Our Technology Practice Leader, Prof. Kelvin Kabeti Omieno is the Founding and Current Dean, School of Computing and Information Technology (SCIT), Kaimosi Friends University (KAFU) since February 2019. Prof. Omieno has acquired over eight (8) years of hands-on administrative experience in higher management in Kenya. In 2014 he was appointed Chairman of Department of Computer Science in the Faculty of Science, Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST). In December 2016, Prof. Omieno was appointed Founding Dean, School of Computing and Informatics, MMUST, a position he held till January 2019.

He is currently an Adjunct Professor in Department of Management Sciences and Academic Leader of Masters in Business Information Systems at Technical University of Mombasa (TUM). Prof. Omieno is also an External Examiner with Egerton University (EU) and Lukenya University (LU). Prof. Kelvin Omieno has served as a chairman and member in several other academic and non-academic appointments. He spearheaded development of Kaimosi Friends University Charter 2022, University Statutes 2022 and many other University policy documents. 

Prof. Omieno holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Information Systems from Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science & Technology, Kenya; Master of Science in Information Technology from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology; Master of Business Administration (Corporate Management) from KCA University; and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (First Class Honors). Besides, Prof. Omieno possesses Huawei Certified ICT Associate-Artificial Intelligence (HCIA-AI) and Certificate in Python Programming. He is a professional member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the largest association of computing professionals globally. He is also a member of Internet Society (ISoC) and professional member of Association of Computing Practitioners – Kenya (ACPK).
